Gustavo Pessoa encerra participação no BRMX para fazer carreira no exterior

03/07/2018

Gustavo Pessoa ends participations in BRMX to makes career on abroad

After participating in five stages of the Brazilian Motocross Championship and having been summoned by Confederação Brasileira de Motociclismo (CBM) to join Brazil’s team at the Motocross of Nations, held in November in Michigan (USA), MX2 rider Gustavo Pessoa announced he’ll leave Honda Racing team to be part of the Bike It DRT Kawasaki team.

The pilot embarks today to the United Kingdom, home of the Dixon Racing Team, where he is preparing to debut overseas on the 22nd of this month, racing at the 14th stage of the MXGP in Loket’s track, located in Czech Republic.

Gustavo Pessoa made a good campaign during his participation in the Brazilian Motocross Championship. He managed to hold the championship lead for four consecutive stages until he had problems with his motorcycle in the last stage, on June 10 in Nova Alvorada (MS), and dropped to third place overall.

CBM’s president, Firmo Alves, spoke about the new step in the pilot's career. "We are very happy with the news and expect to export more Gustavo Pessoa. Unlike many other sports, CBM is able to offer competitions for base categories, which in addition to training young talents allows them to have visibility and to build a career both inside and outside of the country. The great names of the brazilian sport have had their passage abroad and with motocross is no different.

The exchange that these riders do also adds to the evolution and technical level of our sport when they return to their home country. CBM wishes Gustavo success on this new journey"- congratulated the president of CBM.

The rider continues his training in England and will be sponsored by ASW Racing. It is not the first time that ASW launches a brazilian in the Motocross World Championship. The first time was with Balbi Jr., who will be Brazil’s team leader in the Motocross of Nations and raced the 2005 MXGP with support from the Ricci Racing team. The brand is also responsible for the sponsorship of pilots of the brazilian team in championships such as the Motocross of Nations and the International Six Days Enduro, as well as supporting Felipe Zanol to win his eighth place in the Enduro World Championship in 2011
